2020 predictions and Astrology
2020 has been one heck of a year. It’s also been a year in which the astrology has been in your face. Many astrologer’s have tried to predict what the year had in store with varying degrees of success. This blog is a quick record of the major predictions made by myself over the past couple years.
The methods used are traditional mundane astrology—one of the oldest and probably most difficult branches of astrology. It requires a deep understanding of world cycles and familiarity with the ancient art. Most astrologers versed in natal astrology attempt to apply those methods to mundane astrology, but the methods can be strikingly different.
I’ve spent the better part of 20 years mastering Mundane astrology and use those methods in all the predictions. I will detail below a list of all the predictions I made alongside my colleague catherine yronwode
In 2018 and 2019 I warned of global social upheaval in the form of protests against neoliberal capitalism and white supremacy. We were already seeing glimpses of it across the globe and I warned we would see it reach a crescendo in 2020. The protests of Hong Kong would come to DC and NY. We are now seeing this come to life with the George Floyd protests, Black Lives Matter, and the struggle against fascism.
In 2019 and 2020 I warned the coronavirus would become a pandemic. catherine yronwode of Lucky Mojo fame also warned of the virus. At the time, the concerns were dismissed by others. Together we predicted not only would the virus become a pandemic but it would expose the deep structural issues in our society in healthcare, wealth inequality, and politics. catherine also accurately predicted the coronavirus would reveal itself to be more than a respiratory virus but would have severe impact on heart, blood, and brain.
In January I called 2020 the year of the underworld in which diseases, earthquakes, fires, and volcanoes would coincide with the spiritual and social debts that would come due. Years of negligence in the realms of income inequality, racial injustice, and historic wrongs would come to a head alongside natural disasters. We are seeing this unfold in protests, taking down confederate statues, the eruption of Mt Sinabung, the California wildfires, and pandemic quarantines.
Over a year ago, cat warned of the upcoming beef shortages and the rise of new technologies to deal with it. We are watching as the world experiments with 3D printing of beef. She also warned how the international market would have an impact on spiritual supplies in the form of candles, roots, herbs, and other magica materia. Not only has this come true, it is quickly looking like it is the new normal.
cat and I both warned back in February of the likelihood of the November election being delayed, tampered with, and its legitimacy challenged. We are watching the president directly undermine mail-in-voting and the post office and the results of the election before they’ve even taken place.
In February after our radio show, I texted cat about the astrology of 2020 mirroring the astrology of years in which presidents either fell sick and died, or faced an assassination attempt. In Sept 2020, ricin was mailed to the White House.
We are entering a new astrological age and I predict the seismic changes we are witnessing are only beginning. We are seeing the dismantling and collapsing of the post-WW2 world order. Reagan global neoliberalism is collapsing. In its place we are seeing a world with not a singular unilateral world power like the United States, but competing regional powers. While the US will trudge along for some time, its place as the dominant imperial power is waning. Civil strife and ongoing political fragmentation are the new normal. The times ahead will be trying and there is no guarantee what comes next will somehow be better—we are watching the rise of global fascism before our very eyes. While technology will continue to create an interconnected technocratic globe, political fragmentation is likely.
I divided up the year into 4 major stress points: March, end of May/early June, late Summer, and the October season. March was when coronavirus became an official pandemic, May-June we had the mass uprising, late Summer gave us the Beirut explosion and the California fires, and October/November we are awaiting.
But hope remains—as bad as the astrological “weather” gets, we can always choose how to respond to it. We are watching new coalitions form, a widespread awareness of the pressing issues of racial inequality, economic disparity, healthcare as a necessity, acceptance of LGBTQ rights as human rights, and the impending climate crisis.I will discuss my approach and method to mundane astrology in another blog.
